Mission

Its My Britain is building a clear, trustworthy record of the British Isles — from early kingdoms to the modern day — covering history, culture, places, science, and public life. We celebrate what’s wonderful, document what’s complex, and provide practical tools to help people engage with their representatives and improve how the political system works for everyone.

  • Accuracy first. Facts are sourced and time-stamped; revisions are logged.
  • Neutral & readable. Plain language, no partisan spin.
  • Context matters. We prefer timelines, maps, and glossaries to avoid ambiguity.
  • Respect & inclusion. Britain’s history is many histories — we aim to reflect that.
  • Transparency. Corrections are welcomed and credited.

How We Build the Record

Content is structured into clear fields (title, description, location, year/period, category), so it can power search, timelines, and maps. That structure also helps teachers, researchers, and the public reuse entries without losing context.

If we cite modern sources, we prefer primary or authoritative repositories.

Ownership & Jurisdiction

Its My Britain is published by ZypherLock LLC, a US company. Our editorial team is largely UK-based, but we operate through the United States to safeguard editorial independence and protect good-faith commentary and opinion. Some of our contributors and readers are concerned that recent policy debates under the current Labour government could have a chilling effect on lawful expression; US incorporation helps ensure that reasoned criticism and genuinely held beliefs can be hosted without undue pressure, while we still comply with applicable UK law.

Why structure in the US?

  • Stronger speech protections: US First Amendment principles provide a high bar for actions against lawful opinion and fair comment, helping us host genuinely held views without undue pressure.
  • Editorial independence: An arm’s-length jurisdiction reduces the risk of vexatious or politically motivated attempts to silence or chill lawful discourse.
  • Clarity for readers & contributors: Our ownership and hosting model is transparent so people know the legal context in which we publish.

Our commitments

  • We follow the law: Publishing to a UK audience means we respect UK and EU laws that apply, including defamation, privacy and data protection. US incorporation is not a way to evade accountability.
  • Accuracy & fairness: We correct errors, credit sources, and offer a right of reply where appropriate.
  • Notice & action: If you believe something is unlawful or infringes your rights, contact us and we will review promptly.

Editorial home: United Kingdom · Publisher of record: ZypherLock LLC (United States). This arrangement is common for publishers serving international audiences and is designed to protect lawful, good-faith speech.
